About

Everyone deserves someone to talk to

Yaara means friend. We built Yaara because too many people in India have nobody to call when the day gets heavy, and because talking to a patient, caring listener should not require a diagnosis, an appointment or a subscription.

Yaara connects you with verified listeners and counsellors for private voice and video calls, in the language you think in, billed only for the minutes you talk. Listeners are independent people who set their own hours and are paid fairly for every minute.

What Yaara is

A companionship and peer-listening marketplace. A safe way to vent, think out loud, practise a language, or simply not be alone for a while.

What Yaara is not

Not therapy, not medical or psychiatric care, and not an emergency service. Listeners do not diagnose or treat. If you are in crisis, call 112 or Tele-MANAS on 14416.

How we keep it safe

Identity verification for every counsellor, no call recording, phone numbers never shared, one-tap block and report, and a human moderation team.

Who runs Yaara

Uma Shankar

Yaara is operated by Uma Shankar, an individual (sole proprietor) trading as Yaara, based in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Questions, partnership ideas or press: support@meetyaara.com.

Our principles

  • Private by default. We collect the minimum, never record calls, and never sell data.
  • Honest billing. The rate is visible before every call and the meter is on screen during it.
  • Fair to listeners. Verified people, paid per minute, weekly payouts, no shifts.
  • Made for India. UPI payments, Indian languages, Indian law and data protection.
